There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:<\/em> Ecclesiastes 3:1<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n We live in rhythms of summer, fall, winter, and spring. There are times to sow seeds and there are times of harvesting. The sun rises in the morning and it sets in the evening. God teaches us through nature that times come and go. Ups and downs are a part of life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sometimes different areas of our lives are in different seasons. Maybe you\u2019re waiting for our significant other to enter your life while you\u2019re thriving in your workplace. Or you\u2019re facing infertility while your friendships are flourishing. Maybe you\u2019re out of a job while having the most amazing and supportive family surrounding you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n No matter how your life looks like at the moment, I\u2019m sure you\u2019re familiar with ups and downs. You probably know both: Joy and sorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Enough about us, I want to talk about the one who is unshakable in the face of changing seasons. God has been the same throughout thousands of years. His promises to stand firm throughout generations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n God was faithful in the past:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Not one of all the Lord\u2019s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.<\/em> Joshua 21:45<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n God is still faithful today and will be in the future:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. <\/em>Hebrews 10:36<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. <\/em>2. Peter 3:13<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n God\u2019s love for his people, as it is evident throughout the Bible and beyond, does not waver:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. <\/em>Romans 8:38-39<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n While you\u2019re going through the ups and downs of your life, God remains the same<\/strong>. Rely on him because he is constant<\/strong>and does not waver. Find rest in his shelter knowing that he\u2019s steadfast<\/strong>. God himself, his love for you, and his promises stay the same no matter what you\u2019re going through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n God is unshakable, but this doesn\u2019t mean he\u2019s not moved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n God is moved by your prayers<\/strong> (one of many examples is found in 1. Samuel 1:1-20). <\/p>\n\n\n\n God is moved by your sorrows: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion<\/strong> for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. <\/em>Matthew 9:36<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n Even tough God does not dither, he is affected by whatever you\u2019re going through<\/strong>. And not only that, he also acts on behalf of those who wait for him (Isaiah 64:4). <\/p>\n\n\n\n In Jesus, God showed himself weak and vulnerable. <\/strong>Because of that we know that he truly and deeply cares:<\/p>\n\n\n\n For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God\u2019s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God\u2019s power we will live with him in our dealing with you.<\/em> 2. Corinthians 13:4<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n God is strong beyond measure. <\/strong>But he chose to show <\/em>weakness in order for us to find strength in him and through him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n I can do all this through him who gives me strength. <\/em>Philippians 4:13<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n God is firm like a solid rock while being deeply moved<\/strong> by prayers and by whatever his children are going through at the same time. God is unshakable, but at the same time, he chose to come down on earth in human form and made himself vulnerable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n While going through the ups and downs of life, cling to the only one who is steadfast.<\/strong> Find comfort in his everlasting love, knowing that your situation does affect him. God is compassionate and kind. He is moved by what you\u2019re going through. But it doesn\u2019t change who he is or his promises for your life.
