The Invincible Power of Love: A Story of Two Worlds

Love unites across worlds. A fictional series about a South Korean woman and a North Korean soldier falling in love despite their countries being enemies, reminds me once again that the power of love can overcome any boundary.

Two countries that were once one.

Heaven and earth longing to be united, to embrace each other in love. A garden that was once perfect. Our hearts yearn for unity with our Creator across all borders.

God is in heaven and we are on earth. Two different worlds held together by the bond of love. What a wonderful fact it is that we too have the ability to love. What makes God God, He has placed in us.

Love is the strongest force. It is the only thing that will last forever because love has always existed. Even before creation, there was God; love itself. And even after this world, He, love, will continue to exist.

Every love relationship testifies to God’s comprehensive love for His creation; for His people. The author of love stories draws us towards Himself and calls out, “Look to the origin behind every couple in love, where the true love between God and His creation is shown.“

At great risk to their lives, the North Korean man and South Korean woman in the series fought to bring their two worlds together, attempting to be united in love.

No power in the world can fight against the power of love. One may think that weapons can accomplish much. But when someone loves, that person is unstoppable. Love threw itself into the crossfire, intercepting the bullet for us on the cross. It gives its life to connect two separate worlds.

Our fear of unrequited love, of being abandoned or losing a loved one, only shows that love has the greatest power.

Some people try to harden their hearts to avoid pain and suffering, but love cannot be repelled. The most sensible thing to do is to throw oneself headlong into its arms and never let it go, knowing that it has always held us. Love is what makes us truly alive and keeps us alive.

Regardless of what happens in our lives or what challenges we have to face, God, love itself, remains with us. We are always loved and can always love, even when everything is taken away from us.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Love is the only reason worth living. It is the only important thing in life. It is what remains into eternity when heaven and earth are finally united again.

Love is the strongest force.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7
