Prayer Answered: How God Created a New Position just for Me

A desire in my heart spoke up. I wished for a part-time job, a type that is hard to come by. Only a few hours a week, as my life with small children, a home, and numerous projects was already quite full. Such job opportunities are usually not found on job platforms.

But God can make the impossible possible.” That was the conviction of my heart. In the past, I had prayed for jobs, and God had led me to them in unlikely ways. Each position was a gift as it contributed to our livelihood.

So I sat down, with the desire for work in my heart and a pen in my hand. I opened my prayer journal, filled with thoughts, prayers, and answered prayers, and presented my new request. It should be a job that suits me. I wished to feel God’s presence in this place; His love, joy, and peace. I desired passion for my work, that it would be fulfilling. I prayed for God to bring this job opportunity to me – without me having to search for it. With the words that God can work miracles, but HIS will is above all, I concluded my prayer, recorded on paper.

I remembered the countless moments in my life when I had prayed specifically for an open door, a thing or a situation. I thought of the specific requests I had made and how God had paved a way where none was visible.

What I didn’t know at the time was that the position I was praying for didn’t even exist yet.

A few months later, a acquaintance reached out to me. Without a comment, she forwarded a job advertisement. The job description only partially matched my personality. However, since the job opportunity was presented to me from the outside, I recognized God’s handwriting, His possible work, in the process, and applied spontaneously.

During the job interview, it became clear that the advertised position was not the right fit for me, which I immediately expressed openly. From that point, the conversation took a new turn: the eyes of the employee lit up as she shared her desire to build something entirely new in the business, and that with my qualifications, I would be the perfect person for it. I was all ears. Her idea thrilled me.

Months of discussions and clarifications followed, and eventually, a completely new position was created for me in this company that aligned perfectly with my prayer points. Wow! Only God can do something like this.

God opened the door for a part-time opportunity that aligns with my passion and suits me perfectly. His presence is tangible in this place, and my work is fulfilling. Additionally, I can contribute significant value to this company. God has truly responded to my desires and even created a new position.

For several months now, I’ve been engaged in this role, experiencing not only God’s presence but also witnessing how He intricately wove threads in the background. My job miraculously aligns with another major project I’ve been pursuing in recent months, and now both are coming together. Only God can orchestrate such things!

When He answers a specific prayer, it’s because of His grace and love. It’s a pure gift. However, God is not a wish-granting machine, fulfilling every desire on demand. There are also many prayers in my life that God has not yet answered or may never answer. We also have to be okay with that and accept what he gives us.

The best part of it all is the experience of witnessing God at work. Recognizing how great and mighty He is, observing how He works in the background, and witnessing doors opening is just amazing. It’s a testimony of His guidance, love, and kindness that I’ve had the privilege to experience. My hope is that you’ll be encouraged to trust Him and present your specific requests to Him.
